"Garrod, power for you." Tiffa Adill
At the height of the Seventh Space War, the Old Earth Federation was rushing
to develop Mobile Suits to match the superior numbers of Mobile Suits being
deployed by the Space Revolutionary Army. Their first attempts, the DT-6800
Dautap Series, had proved pitifully under-powered in dealing with the more
advanced units of the SRA . The Federation then poured it's resources into the
development of three new, and highly advanced Mobile Suits. These units, the
GT-9600 Gundam Leopard, GW-9800 Gundam Airmaster, and the GX-9900 Gundam X. All
three units were equipped with the newly developed "Newtype Flash System." This
system allowed a "Newtype" pilot to control dozens of remote contol bit units;
these "bits" were essentially un-piloted Mobile Suits, hence the name "Mobile
Bits."
The GX-9900 (also called the GX), the last of the Gundams to reach the
battlefield, was equipped with the most powerful weapon ever developed by either
side of the conflict. The "Satellite Cannon." The Satellite Cannon was powered
by a Super-Microwave Energy Beam, eliminating the need to carry a large power
pack onboard the Gundam itself. A Newtype pilot would mentally contact the Moon
Space Station, and direct a laser downlink to his Mobile Suit. Once the
downlink was verified, the station would activate the Super-Microwave Energy
Beam, sending enormous amounts energy to the collector wings of the unit's
Satellite Cannon. Once the Cannon reached full charge, the pilot would fire it,
just like any weapon. The devastating blast fired by a single Satellite Cannon
could devastate an entire Space Colony.
Such tremendous power was not suitable for every combat action, so the Gundam
X was equipped with a Beam Sword, Chest Vulcans, and the Buster Energy Rifle
.(which could also double as a shield)
Additionally, a lockout feature was included in the Gundam X , in the form of
it's "G-Controller." The "G-Controller" was not only the primary control stick
of the Gundam X's cockpit, but the key to the entire system. Without a
"G-Controller" the Gundam X was an innert collection of spare parts.
Of the production run of the GX unit's only two are comfirmed to have
survived the Seventh Space War in any condition. The first GX was the unit
piloted by Newtype Jamil Neate. Neate, then a young man, used his GX in an
attempt to stop the Space Revolutionary Army's attempt to drop hundreds of
colonies onto the Earth. He Failed, and the Earth was plunged into chaos.
Abandoning his damaged GX in space, Neate fled to the Earth, where he would
eventually become a famous "Vulture," and return to space in an attempt to bring
an end to the conflict once and for all. New Earth Federation agents would
eventually recover the abandoned GX and use it to develop the GX-9901-DX Gundam
Double X.
The second GX unit was discovered in the remains of an abandoned military
base on Earth, by a young man named Garrod Ran. Ran had been fleeing from a
group of men in Mobile Suits (DT-6800 units) that were attempting to take into
their custody the Newtype girl Tiffa Adill, whom Garrod had taken off of Jamil
Neate's Landship, the "Freeden." Garrod had stolen the G-Controller that Neate
had kept from his GX, and was able to use it to activate this new GX. Quickly
destroying his opponents, he met up again with the Vulture group lead by Neate,
and confronted the GT-9600 and GW-9800 unit's that Neate was employing to defend
his ship.
After a brief skirmish with the other two Gundams, Garrod fled with Tiffa,
and eventually was attacked by a group of Mercenaries piloting Jenice units.
Tiffa was able to help Garrod by activating the Satellite Cannon, and destroyed
the forces attacking them. Although traumatized by the mental death-cries of
the enemy pilots, Tiffa would eventually recover, and the two joined Neate and
the Freedens crew. She would help Garrod fire the GX's Satellite cannon on
several more occasions. After a battle in which the GX was severly damaged, the
Frieden's Mecha Mechanic, Kid Salsamille would rebuild this GX into the GX-9900
DV Gundam X Divider.

[1]The Head and Hands are small targets , and are difficult to hit.
Therefore, even with a called shot, they are -3 to hit.
[2]The Head Sensor Unit (located at the top of the head) is very small and
extremely difficult to hit. Therefore, even with a called shot, they are -5 to
hit. Destroying the Head Sensor Unit will disrupt the Gundam X's ability to
send and receive Radio signals and will cripple the Radar and Laser Tracking
systems. This will eliminate the bonuses for Strike and Dodge.
[3]Depleting the MDC of the Main Body will disable the Gundam X.
[4]Depleting the MDC of the Satellite Cannon Backpack, or destroying 2 or
more Energy Collector Wings will disable the Satellite cannon, and render the
GX-9900 incapable of flight.
